Welcome to Regional Development Australia – Pilbara Inc.
New Era in Regional Development
Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a partnership between the Australian, state and territory and local governments to support the growth and development of Australia’s regions. RDA committees will build partnerships between governments, regional development organisations, local businesses, community groups and key regional stakeholders to provide strategic and targeted responses to economic, environmental and social issues affecting the regions of Australia.
RDA is delivered through a national network of 55 committees and has redefined the role that the organisation plays in the delivery of regional development.
Regional Development in Western Australia
On 25 August 2009, the Australian Government Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, Maxine McKew, and the Western Australian Minister for Regional Development and Lands, Brendon Grylls, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Australian and Western Australian governments setting out the arrangements for Regional Development Australia in Western Australia. The MoU supports the adoption of more integrated and aligned arrangements for regional engagement and economic development between the Australian Government through the RDA network, and the Western Australian Government through the Regional Development Commissions.
